Complement as a Therapeutic Target in Systemic Autoimmune Diseases
نویسندگان
چکیده
The complement system (CS) includes more than 50 proteins and its main function is to recognize protect against foreign or damaged molecular components. Other homeostatic functions of CS are the elimination apoptotic debris, neurological development, control adaptive immune responses. Pathological activation plays prominent roles in pathogenesis most autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, antiphospholipid syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, dermatomyositis, ANCA-associated vasculitis. In this review, we will review rheumatologic processes which a pathogenic role potential relevance therapeutic target.

P 86: CD166 as a Therapeutic Target in Autoimmune Diseases
About 3 decades ago CD6 identified as one of the first antigens expresses on the majority of T cells and a subset of B cells. CD6 regulates cellular adhesion migration across the endothelial and epithelial cells. In recent years researches indicate its role in pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. Many researches have been done in recent years to block CD6 by CD6 mono clonal antibodies, IOR-T1 a...

متن کاملGM-CSF as a therapeutic target in autoimmune diseases
Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) has been known as a hematopoietic growth factor and immune modulator. Recent studies revealed that GM-CSF also had pro-inflammatory functions and contributed to the pathogenicity of Th17 cells in the development of Th17-mediated autoimmune diseases. GM-CSF inhibition in some animal models of autoimmune diseases showed significant benefic...
متن کاملPlatelet-Derived Growth Factor as a Therapeutic Target for Systemic Autoimmune Diseases
Some systemic rheumatic diseases and disorders, especially fibrotic and vascular disorders, are often refractory to corticosteroid therapy. Recently, ever accumulating evidence suggests that platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is involved in those refractory diseases. Imatinib mesylate inhibits the activation of PDGF receptor as well as c-Abl, Bcr-Abl and c-Kit tyrosine kinases. It has theref...
متن کاملApoptosis as a Potential Target in Therapeutic and Vaccine Interventions against Parasitic Diseases
Apoptosis is a physiological cell death that occurs under normal conditions in major biological processes, including the removal of old, damaged, extra, or harmful cells. It plays an important role in natural evolution, tissue homeostasis, removal of cells damaged or infected by viruses, and removal of immune cells activated against self-antigens. The purpose of this review was to examine the r...
